TJ Jones Gets Hurt In Attempt To Win Roster Spot
5 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver TJ Jones got hurt in the fourth quarter of Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots. After catching a fourth down pass from Kyle Lauletta, Jones appeared to injure his right foot. If serious, it could be a devastating injury for a wide receiver who seemed to be in a good position to make the final roster. If Jones is hurt, it opens up an opportunity for preseason darling Reggie White Jr. or second-year wide receiver Alonzo Russell to make the final roster. Russell caught five passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns against New England, including the game-winner on the final play of the game. Whoever makes the final roster might end up being an interesting name for deep leagues considering the suspension of Golden Tate, which leaves the Giants wide receiver corps with a massive question mark behind starters Sterling Shepard and Cody Latimer.
