Houston Texans running back Buddy Howell played a key role in Saturday's preseason win over the Detroit Lions, rushing 15 times for 84 yards and a touchdown. He wasn't targeted in the passing game. Howell seemed to be on the outside of the race for one of the final spots in Houston's running back rotation, but Saturday's game is going to give the Texans a lot to think about. Howell still seems like the least likely back to make the final roster, but he could land with a team in need of running back depth if Houston cuts him.
