J.T. Barrett Signed By Seahawks
5 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback J.T. Barrett to the team for now, but he's not expected to be with the squad for long. Barrett was signed because Geno Smith had a minor surgical procedure on his knee on Friday, and that left Russell Wilson and Paxton Lynch as the only quarterbacks left on the team roster. Smith is expected back in 5-10 days, so Barrett's time with the team is likely to be quite short. That said, maybe Barrett can wow the coaches or Smith struggles to get back to form, so it's something to keep an eye on. The former Ohio State QB has yet to take a snap in the NFL, but he'll likely make an appearance in Seattle's next preseason game on August 18 unless Smith hurries back.
