Steven Matz Can't Escape Fourth In Defeat
5 years agoThe strong starting pitching of the New York Mets took a hit Friday night as Steven Matz was knocked around in Pittsburgh. The New York native tossed just 3 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out four, but after 65 pitches he was done and eventually took the loss in what was an 8-4 defeat. The performance comes just days after Matz tossed a complete-game shutout against this same Pirates team, making this all the more disappointing.
