J.T. Realmuto Starts At 1B, Homers On Wednesday
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto made his second start of the season at first base on Wednesday with Andrew Knapp behind the plate. Realmuto went 1-for-4 in the game, hitting his 12th home run of the season. Realmuto has underperformed a bit this year compared with his high expectations, but he's still a big difference-maker at the catcher position and should be relied upon as a strong starter for his owners every week. His .283 xBA suggests some room for growth from his current .267 average and if he can lower his strikeout rate (currently 23.7%) to where it was last year (19.6%), he'll stand to gain even more value.
