Nathan Eovaldi Expected To Go On Rehab Assignment Soon
5 years agoBoston Red Sox general manager Dave Dombrowski said that starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) is expected to throw to hitters at Fenway Park on Monday and then embark on a rehab assignment. Eovaldi was electric in the postseason last year en route to winning the World Series with Boston, but he struggled to a 6.00 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in his four starts early this year before his injury. It sounds as if Boston plans to use him in relief when he returns, which might actually make him even more attractive in fantasy. Boston's bullpen has been a disaster in a committee approach between Matt Barnes, Brandon Workman and Ryan Brasier. Eovaldi is worth a speculative stash right now if you're desperate for saves.
