Alex Gordon Still Owns Scherzer
5 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon absolutely dominates Max Scherzer, and nobody knows why, not even Gordon himself. Gordon went 2-for-2 with a double and a walk against Scherzer on Saturday, compiling half the team's hits against the Cy Young winner, raising his career batting average to .390 against Scherzer. After the game, Gordo was forthcoming with the fact that he doesn't know why he has so much success against such a nearly-unhittable pitcher. Gordon's picked it up recently against the whole league, knocking eight hits in his last five games as the All-Star break approaches. Hopefully, the extended break can help him regain some of the magic he had at the start of the season. Perhaps he can just rent his services out to various teams to always get to hit against Scherzer instead.
