Jose Altuve Hitting .292 Since Return From Injured List
5 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve missed a total of about five weeks while nursing a left hamstring strain. He has played in 11 games since his return from the Injured List on June 19 and has shown some promising signs. His season-long batting average when he went on the Injured List was .243, but he's been able to increase it to .255 thanks to four multi-hit games and a total of 14 hits over 48 at-bats since his return. On the year, Altuve has posted a higher barrel rate (7.5%) and hard-hit rate (35.5%) than he has in the past two years. Sandwiched between George Springer and Alex Bregman at the top of one of the league's best lineups, Altuve should be involved in a lot of run production and be one of the top scoring second basemen in fantasy going forward as long as he stays healthy the rest of the way.
