Jon Gray Baffles Giants
5 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray was a monster against San Francisco on Monday. Gray tossed six innings of shutout ball while only allowing four hits and two walks, and he struck out six. His bullpen would hold the shutout and allow Gray to pick up his eighth win of the season. With the team reeling from three straight walk-off losses in LA, a beatdown of the Giants in their pitcher-friendly park was just what the doctor ordered. Gray has now allowed just one earned run in his last 12 innings, and his sub-4.00 ERA looks like the real deal. He's an anomaly amongst Colorado pitchers, carrying a better ERA at home than on the road, so he could be considered for his start this weekend against the Dodgers at home, but it's still risky.
