Gary Sanchez Stars As Yankees Sweep Tampa
5 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez set the tone early for his club's victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx. The 26-year-old drilled a three-run blast in the very first inning with his club never looking back en route to a 12-1 victory. Sanchez would later rip an RBI double to left, increasing his club's lead to 7-1 at the time. He now has 21 home runs, trailing only his new teammate Edwin Encarnacion in the American League. Additionally, he has 49 RBI and is batting .266 as his redemption story continues.
