Brett Gardner Goes 2-For-4 With Four RBI
5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs on Sunday while hitting in the five-spot. It was a day off for Aaron Hicks and Didi Gregorius, which pushed Gardner up in the order as he has primarily been hitting seventh or ninth in the order this month. Gardner has been starting just about every game for the Yankees lately and is slashing .230/.312/.448 with 11 home runs, 31 RBI, 43 runs and six stolen bases across 66 games this year. His run-scoring ability in the Yankees lineup makes him worthy of a roster spot in AL-only leagues and 14+ team leagues, but in more shallow leagues, he's fine to leave on waivers. His playing time will likely go down at least a bit once Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge return to the mix.
