Ian Desmond Smashes Longest HR Of 2019
6 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Ian Desmond has been on point recently, and that culminated in his pinch-hit solo bomb in the seventh inning of Monday night's game with the Cubs. Desmond's swing propelled the 1-2 curveball 486 feet to left field, the longest home run hit in the majors this season. Desmond is now 5-for-13 over his last four games, and the homer has given him three extra-base hits in the span. Desmond is a notoriously streaky hitter who has already had big swings in his production this season, such as going 9-for-19 from May 26 to May 31 followed immediately by going 0-for-11 from June 1 to June 5. For now, it looks like he's embarked on another warm spell, so owner can look at a short-term investment.
