Elvis Andrus Placed On IL, Willie Calhoun Recalled From Triple-A
6 years agoThe Texas Rangers have placed shortstop Elvis Andrus (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list. Andrus seemed to slow up on his way to first base Tuesday night and was removed from the game for a hamstring issue. The Rangers have also recalled outfield prospect Willie Calhoun from Triple-A. Calhoun has been absolutely mashing Triple-A pitching, swatting eight home runs, 18 runs, and 22 RBI to go along with a stellar .304/.416/.557 batting line. His first go-round in the majors didn't go as planned, but the one-time top prospect in the Rangers' system has all the tools to make himself a mainstay. He should be owned in deeper leagues and all dynasty formats.
