Alex Gordon Records Five RBI In Blowout
6 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder and recent Fountain of Youth imbiber Alex Gordon blew up the Tigers on Saturday as he drilled his sixth home run of the year and drove in five runs. The 35-year-old, who credits his complete turnaround to a mechanical change in his stance made late last season, is now hitting .299 with the six home runs, 22 runs scored, and 27 RBI on the season. He's striking out half as often as last season, he's walking nearly as often as he's striking out, his exit velocity is up by nearly four MPH compared to two years ago, and he's barreled almost 10% of the balls he's put in play this year. Obviously, for someone his age with his history, there's a chance this isn't sustainable, but fantasy owners should be completely buying in for now. They can move on if/when his age catches up to him.
