Jakob Junis Has Hand Contusion

Kansas City Royals starter Jakob Junis was solid in his performance Wednesday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays, but exited prematurely. This was due to a line drive that struck Junis on his right hand, with the Royals announcing the injury to be a right hand contusion. The 26-year-old had six strikeouts and one run allowed through five innings of work, his best start of the year. More updates will follow as the Royals provide further news on Junis' status.
