Trent Thornton Struggles In Loss To Rays
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton allowed five runs on eight hits over just three innings during an 11-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night. Thornton walked two batters and struck out three. It was the first loss of the season for the young right-hander, after allowing two runs across 10 2/3 innings in his first two starts. The 25-year-old now has a 4.61 ERA on the season to go along with a 1.24 WHIP and 18/4 K/BB rate. Thornton is a streamer to consider when facing a mediocre opponent, but avoid him in his next probable start against the Minnesota Twins.
