Max Scherzer Could Miss Next Start
6 years agoThe Washington Nationals could temporarily be without their ace and one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Max Scherzer, who was hit in the ankle by a comebacker his last time out, has been throwing off flat ground while having his ankle wrapped. Nationals manager Dave Martinez stated he was hopeful Scherzer would make his next start, but if he can't go, Anibal Sanchez has been named as the backup plan. Sanchez would be on normal rest anyways, so the change wouldn't alter the club's plans significantly. Scherzer could throw again on Thursday, as the bone bruise was expected to affect him for a couple of days.
