6 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman Mark Reynolds was a controversial player that was kept on the roster over a bevy of young talent that exists in the Rockies farm system, but the thought was that it would be good to have a veteran bat off the bench. That came through in spades on Monday as Reynolds came to the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning and ripped a two-run home run to put Colorado on the board. The team would still end up losing their eighth game in nine contests, but Reynolds was then present in the clubhouse to try to help get everyone out of their funk. Reynolds told reporters that the team's offensive woes were because everyone was trying to do too much, and they were working on calming down and just letting things come to them.
