Tevin Coleman Could Be Short-Yardage Back
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hinted that running back Tevin Coleman could be the team's short-yardage back in 2019. Coleman is San Fran's biggest running back, but he hasn't really proven to be very effective between the tackles in his four seasons with the Falcons. The soon-to-be 26-year-old is talented (career 4.4 yard-per-carry average) and can take a run to the house at any moment, but it remains to be seen how the Niners crowded backfield will operate next season. Matt Breida, Jerick McKinnon and Raheem Mostert are also in the picture. If Coleman gets the majority of short-yardage and goal-line work, though, he might be the best fantasy option in the team's backfield.
