Chris Sale, Red Sox Agree On Long-Term Extension
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, the Boston Red Sox agreed on a long-term contract extension with starting pitcher Chris Sale on a deal that is believed to span from 2020 to 2024, a source told MLB Network's Ken Rosenthal on Friday. The deal is expected to be worth slightly less than $150 million and is likely to include deferred money. The ace left-hander has a 2.56 ERA in 59 starts with 545 strikeouts in 372 1/3 innings in his two seasons with Boston. The seven-time All-Star has thrown a lot of innings and dealt with shoulder issues in the second half last year, but he's still RotoBaller's No. 2 fantasy starter going into the 2019 season.
