Hyun-Jin Ryu To Start On Opening Day

With Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Rich Hill dealing with a strained MCL in his left knee and most likely to open the year on the injured list, Hyun-Jin Ryu will start on Opening Day on March 28 against the Diamondbacks. Ross Stripling will start the second game of the year. The soon-to-be 32-year-old Ryu has also struggled with injuries in recent seasons and hasn't topped the 200-inning mark in his five years. The southpaw went 7-3 last year with a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 in 15 starts (82 1/3 innings) when he was healthy. If he can stay on the mound all year, Ryu will be a steal in the late rounds of mixed leagues.
