Christian Yelich Could Build on MVP Campaign in Prime-Age Year
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich's first season out of Miami proved to be as fruitful as many expected. In his sixth Major League season, Yelich won the National League MVP award by slashing .326/.402/.598, leading the league in average, slugging, OPS, and total bases. His power jumped up in Miller Park too, as he hit a career-best 36 home runs while driving in 110 runs. Yelich may be hard-pressed to repeat such a prolific season but he is just turned 27 and is still in his prime. With a strong supporting cast, there's no reason to believe Yelich will be anything but a premier performer again. He is a solid first-round pick in fantasy drafts, especially in leagues that stretch beyond the typical 5x5 categories.
