Cordarrelle Patterson Emerges With 67 Rushing Yards
6 years agoNew England Patriots wide receiver/running back Cordarrelle Patterson stepped up among a thin Patriots backfield to rush the ball 11 times for 61 yards and one touchdown in Week 9. The Patriots were already down rookie runner Sony Michel to start the game but veteran James White appeared to tweak something in the first half. Enter Patterson, who was deployed in the backfield and ran hard for some impressive gains. The Patriots leaned on him multiple times on a drive that resulted in a rushing touchdown for Patterson. The veteran receiver has jumped from team to team over the past several seasons because of his poor route running and an inability for teams to utilize his talent as a runner in space. It is unclear if this trend continues but Patterson getting more touches out of the backfield moving forward is not out of the question after racking up 21 rushes over his last two games. Patterson officially is worth an add in most fantasy formats heading into Week 10.
