Matt Breida Quiet With 12 Touches
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida (shoulder, knee) ran nine times for 39 yards and snagged all three of his targets for 32 yards. Breida was effective when he touched the ball but the running game took a backseat to quarterback C.J. Beathard’s air attack. Breida suffered an apparent shoulder injury during the game but later returned. He led the Niners in touches (12) and continues to definitively outplay counterpart Alfred Morris. It’s likely his practice reps are limited during the week but he’s the 49er running back to own. Breida will be an RB2 In Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals.
