Zach Eflin Beats Mets With Five Shutout Innings
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starter Zach Eflin picked up his second consecutive victory Wednesday night as he shut down the New York Mets in a five-inning effort. The 24-year-old, who won two in a row for the first time since early July, allowed just three hits and three walks. Eflin also struck out nine, his most since early June. The victory improved his record to 11-7, easily the best season of his career, as he possibly sets himself up for a consistent future in the starting rotation. His next start is scheduled for Monday against the Colorado Rockies.
