Framber Valdez To Make Second Start Friday
6 years agoHouston Astros pitcher Framber Valdez will face the Angels for the second time in a week Friday night at Minute Maid Park. The left-handed pitcher made his major league debut on August 21, throwing 4 1/3 innings out of the bullpen against the Mariners. The injury to Lance McCullers Jr. has opened the door for Valdez to make a few starts and tossed five innings of one-run baseball last Sunday against the Angels. There is a possibility Valdez has earned the opportunity to finish the season in the rotation but he will have to produce. Valdez in Triple-A was 6-5 with a 4.11 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 103 innings pitched this season.
