Bryse Wilson Making First Career MLB Start on Monday
6 years agoAtlanta Braves prospect pitcher Bryse Wilson will be making his MLB debut on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It is quite the meteoric rise for the 20-year-old, as he went from starting the season in High-A to making his MLB debut in the same year. Wilson is an exciting young talent who has pitched well in the minor leagues this season. He has a 3.27 ERA across 123 2/3 innings between three different levels of minor league ball in 2018. He is the 13th ranked prospect in the Braves system by MLB.com. The reason for his surprising call-up seems to be so the Braves starters can get an extra day of rest, and it seems likely that he will be sent back down in the next few days. Regardless, Wilson poses to be an interesting streaming option against an offensively-mediocre Pirates team and could gain immediate value if he manages to stick in the rotation.
