Scott Kingery Goes Yard In Home Victory
6 years agoJust hours after pitching and getting smoked by a whopping 20 runs, Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Scott Kingery played a role as his offense recovered to split a doubleheader against the New York Mets. The 24-year-old recorded two hits batting from the seventh spot, including a solo home run that increased his team’s lead to two runs. The two hits recorded in the game snapped a 14-game hitless streak for the rookie, who’s never really found a rhythm this season. For the season, Kingery is hitting just .226 with six home runs and 32 RBI. Regardless, his ability to play multiple positions will keep him in play down the stretch as the Phillies fight for a playoff berth.
