Joey Wendle Homers Saturday Versus Miami
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays second baseman Joey Wendle opened the scoring for the team Saturday versus the Marlins. With the team trailing 2-0, he would drive a ball into the stands to cut the deficit in half. The homer was only his sixth in 118 career games. Wendle is part of an interesting crowd in Tampa's infield, where when everyone is healthy there are more players worth being in the debate than starting positions. He also played in the outfield. His main fantasy value comes from his solid average (.285) and his speed (7 steals). Wendle should not be owned outside of AL-only or fairly deep formats.
