Austin Seferian-Jenkins 2018 Outlook: One to Watch Post-Draft
6 years agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins experienced a mini-resurgence last year after years of battling personal demons off the field. He had a four-game stretch early where he caught 23 passes and hauled in three touchdowns, not to mention an additional TD that was called back on a questionable review versus the Patriots. He then disappeared from the playbook, as the Jets offense itself disappeared.
Now, ASJ has a guaranteed $4 million deal with the Jags and replaces Marcedes Lewis as the primary tight end. Jacksonville has not involved the tight end in the passing game too often, so targets will be at a premium, but Seferian-Jenkins could be a threat in the red zone and provide nice TE2 value. He doesn't need to be drafted, but could be a nice asset off the waiver wire as a streaming option.
