Jake Arrieta Dominates Marlins In Victory
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta posted his best start in weeks Friday night against the lowly Marlins, continuing his resurgent July. The 32-year-old was absolutely abysmal in June, posting a 6.66 ERA in five starts. Friday’s performance, however, which resulted in a win, was his second consecutive quality start. Arrieta would toss seven scoreless innings, striking out three and walking three. It was his second victory in a row, improving his season record to 7-6, while his ERA is now at 3.23. The All-Star break should do him well, as he looks to continue his rebound in the second half of the season.
