Brett Gardner is Starting on Friday
6 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner (knee) is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Gardner missed five games prior to this due to a lingering knee issue. Gardner will lead off and play left field on Friday. He's in a favorable matchup versus Rays' starter Ryne Stanek. However, the Yankees outfield is crowded, so Gardner's playing time could begin to decline as the season rolls on. Gardner should only be owned in deeper mixed and AL-only leagues. He should be kept on the watch list in 12-team leagues, but the Yankees outfield is crowded and Gardner has a long history of injuries.
