Kyle Freeland Wins Despite Walks
7 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland was awarded his first win in four outings on Thursday as the rocky Colorado bullpen finally held on to a lead for him. Freeland posted a quality start by only allowing two earned runs in six innings, but he did walk four batters for the second time in three outings. The Mets were unable to capitalize on the plethora of baserunners, but the recent control issues are a concerning part of Freeland's profile. He's still only allowed more than three runs once in his last 11 turns, so there's a lot of good things going for him for now, but he'll need to get the walks under control to keep the success rolling.
