7 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez has been hitting bombs this season, but his power-heavy approach has caught up to him as his batting average has recently plummeted. Perez is mired in the midst of a 7-for-45 (.156) slump over the last two weeks. Even though he's been struggling, Perez hasn't changed his approach in the least as he's taken zero walks over that stretch. Over the last few years, Perez has switched from his former average-conscious approach to selling out for homers, and it's mostly proved fruitful. However, the downside of such a swing is that there will be cold stretches like this. Hopefully, he comes out of it soon.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
