J.P. Crawford Exits Game After Hit By Pitch
6 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies lost a starter early on during Tuesday’s matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals. J.P. Crawford, who was batting ninth and playing at third base, took a fastball off his left hand. While the training staff entered the field to evaluate him, he remained in the game, only to later be removed when the top of the fifth was beginning. Maikel Franco, who had been given the night off, was forced to enter the game and take over at third. The injury comes only two weeks after Crawford was activated off the DL following a forearm injury that kept him out all of May.
