Jon Gray's Early Wildness Leads To Loss
7 years agoColorado Rockies starter Jon Gray took the loss on Tuesday thanks to a wild first inning. After walking two batters, Gray allowed a three-run home run to Scott Kingery that allowed Philly to take a commanding lead. Gray would still be a little wild in the second inning as he walked two more batters, but he would then settle down and finish with 10 strikeouts over six innings while only allowing one more run. Gray continues to get snakebit by small mistakes, but the strikeouts point at better times coming soon. This was also only the third time in his entire career where Gray has walked more than three batters in an outing.
