Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell (finger) will take batting practice Friday and if everything goes well, he could be used as a pinch-hitter. Russell has been out since Sunday with an injured middle finger, but has swung the bat Wednesday and Thursday. Russell also took grounders Thursday. It appears that Russell will return this weekend, but if he has a setback, he could land on the disabled list.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
