Bears Have Big Plans For Tarik Cohen
7 years agoContinuing an offseason theme, new Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy continues to praise running back Tarik Cohen. He figures to be used all over the field in the Bears offense. His playmaking abilities and versatility make him the ideal weapon in Nagy's offense, and the Bears aren't babying him in his second season. Cohen became the first rookie in NFL history last year to score a touchdown on a run, a pass, a punt return and throw a touchdown since Gale Sayers in 1965. “Sometimes that can be a disadvantage to a defense because they’ve got to cover him all over the field. You can’t just put him in the backfield and say to the middle linebacker, ‘Cover him.’ So we’ll try to do some things there. He’s an athletic kid who does a lot of things well. We’ll have some fun with him," Nagy said. It's a good bet that Cohen will be much more used in 2018 than he was in 2017, and that's bad news for lead back Jordan Howard.
