Jerad Eickhoff Making Triple-A Rehab Start Sunday
7 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitcher Jerad Eickhoff is moving closer towards returning from a right lat strain, which will eventually cause issues for the club’s starting rotation. The 27-year-old suffered an injury scare while rehabbing with Double-A Reading this week, taking a comeback line drive off his hand. While admitting it was slightly sore, he did end up throwing 25 more pitches after the hit. After his upcoming rehab start at Triple-A on Sunday, his path to the majors seems clear, although the effects his return will have on the club’s current major league rotation are yet to be seen. At this point, the odd man out seems to be Ben Lively, who is sporting an 0-2 record with a 6.85 ERA in five starts thus far.
