Tyler Austin Brings Yankees Even In Suspended Game
7 years agoWith Masahiro Tanaka struggling early for the New York Yankees on Tuesday night, the offense found itself in an early three-run hole. Although they made opposing starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez work hard for his outs, it wasn’t until the fourth inning when their first runs came in. The two runs scored in that frame came off the bat of first baseman Tyler Austin, who drilled a two-run home run to right, cutting the deficit to just one. In the following inning, he came to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered a deep fly out to center, driving in the tying run. It was one of the final acts of the evening, as rain forced the game into a suspension, resuming Wednesday evening.
