Paul Goldschmidt Remains Hitless In May

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 on Sunday, bringing his season average down to .225. Goldschmidt has now gone the entire month of May without a hit, and carries a K:BB ratio of 9:3. His K% is 10 percent higher than last season (32.4%) while his BABIP remains the same. The biggest issue seems to be Goldschmidt's performance at home. His hard hit percentage at home is 15% lower at home and his infield pop ups are eight percent higher, leading to a .649 OPS at Chase Field. Given these numbers, it's not surprising that his hitless streak has come on an extended homestand. Goldy looks lost at the plate and owners have to hope that he can make adjustments as the weather warms up.
