Alcides Escobar Leads Royals In GIDP
7 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar is rarely at the top of hitting leaderboards, but he's jumped to the top in one metric so far this year. By grounding into a double play on Saturday, Escobar took over as the Royal who has grounded into the most double plays so far this season. Escobar's other stats include a .197 batting average (after a two-hit day on Saturday!), a .271 on-base percentage that is actually lower than the pitiful OBP he had last year that was the second-worst in the majors, and one stolen base. Escobar continues to be one of the worst hitters in baseball, and he should not be owned in almost any leagues.
