Robbie Ray Increases Fastball Velocity In No-Decision
7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray gave up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out nine over six innings of work on Wednesday night. Ray struggled with his control again, as he's yet to walk fewer than three batters in a game this year. His average fastball velocity was the highest it's been this season, hitting 93.3 mph. It's still lower than the 94.5 mph he threw last season, but it's a step in the right direction. Unless Ray can get the walks under control, it will hold him back from realizing his true potential.
