Mike Tauchman Expected To Start In Minors
7 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Mike Tauchman is the least talked about prospect of the team's young core that is twiddling their thumbs in the minors, but he could still have value if he were to get a shot in the bigs. Unfortunately, it appears he's going to get to smack minor league pitching a while longer. Tauchman is on the verge of being sent back to Triple-A Albuquerque once again, as Colorado has continued to roll out veterans like Ian Desmond, Gerardo Parra and Carlos Gonzalez at the major league level. Gonzalez was expected to leave in free agency this winter, finally opening up a starting spot that would be competed for by Tauchman, David Dahl, Raimel Tapia and Ryan McMahon, but the Rockies eventually re-signed CarGo instead. The 27-year-old may not have much of a major league career outside of serving as a fourth outfielder once in a while.
