Jorge Soler Continues To Underperform
7 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Jorge Soler was given another opportunity this week when starting right fielder Jorge Bonifacio was benched for 80 games due to performance-enhancing drugs. Unfortunately, Soler continues to hit pretty terribly. He's under the Mendoza line once again this spring, though he's at least hit four home runs. Soler looks the part of an uber-prospect, and he had his shining moment with the Cubs when he was first called up, but he's starting to smell like a Quad-A performer. With Kansas City's outfield packed to the gills, Soler needs to perform just so he can play with the big club. Eighty games could be the opening he needs, but he's got to take the steps necessary to take advantage of it.
