Ravens See Lamar Jackson As QB
7 years agoBaltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said the team sees Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson as a quarterback, even though multiple teams have requested that Jackson work out as a wide receiver at the NFL combine. "I don't know what the other teams think about him," Newsome said Friday at the NFL combine. "But, on our board, he's a quarterback." Jackson never played receiver in college but was among the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation with 3,660 passing yards and 1,601 rushing yards last year. However, there are questions about his accuracy moving to the next level, as he never completed more than 60 percent of his throws in any season. The Ravens are still committed to Joe Flacco, though, so they don't figure to be in line to draft Jackson. Jackson has been compared to former NFL QB Kordell Stewart, and his versatility should play somewhere in the NFL, although predicting fantasy success is a tougher task.
