John Collins' Second-Half Fantasy Outlook
7 years agoAtlanta Hawks power forward John Collins is one of the young guys with potential on the 18-41 Hawks team. The Hawks new season goal is doing the worst, which seems counterintuitive, but in today's NBA, tanking is seen as the way to get better. The Hawks will be looking to secure a top-five pick and draft a young star in the making, who they will be able to pair with some of their young talent like Collins, Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry or whoever makes their way out of the mess this season. The other benefit to tanking is letting your young guys get on the floor more, giving them in-game experience that surely helps them grow more than watching from the bench. Collins has been a fringe fantasy player all season, and depending on your league size, he may or may not be owned. But as the season comes to an end, we would expect Collins to get more and more minutes over guys like Dewayne Dedmon and Ersan Ilyasova. In the fantasy world, minutes equal production, and with Collins' energy and bounce, he has great potential to be a fantasy asset.
