With the new season upon us, it's time for another Dynasty rankings update. I'll be updating these monthly throughout the 2025 season and posting them here on RotoBaller during the first week of each month.
Below, you'll find my Top 200 Dynasty Rankings for April 2025, with notes on several intriguing players. Check out my Patreon for my full Top 500 Dynasty Rankings, plus plenty of additional content.

Dynasty Fantasy Baseball Rankings Notes
Jazz Chisholm Jr., New York Yankees
Fresh off a 24/40 season in 2024, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is off to a quick start this season. Chisholm has already gone yard four times in the Yankees' first six games with a steal and a .292/.370/.792 slash line. It's a small sample size, but 50% of Chisholm's 14 BBE have been hard hit with four barrels (28.6%) and a 93.3 mph AVG EV so far.

Chisholm is a player I've been steadily pushing up my dynasty rankings ever since he arrived in New York last summer. As long as he can stay healthy, Chisholm could easily blow past last season's career high of 24 home runs and threaten to join the exclusive 30/30 club for the first time. One downside so far this season, though, has been Chisholm's 10 strikeouts in 27 plate appearances (37%).
Corey Seager, Texas Rangers
There's no denying that Corey Seager is one of the best pure hitters in baseball, but I've been slowly dropping him down my dynasty rankings. It's nothing drastic, and he's still a Top-50 overall player, but guys like Seager are the ones I've started fading and avoiding due to their durability issues and consistent time missed each season.
Once again, Seager is dealing with a nagging calf issue to open this season. This came after playing in just 123 games in 2024 and 119 in 2023. And over the last seven seasons, Seager has reached 500 at-bats just once and has played in just 58.6% of his team's games during that span. It hasn't been as bad recently, but Seager has still missed 25.3% of Texas' games over the last two seasons.
Seager is an elite hitter, but it's hard to build your team around a guy who can't stay on the field for at least 150 games a season.
Lars Nootbaar, St. Louis Cardinals
Lars Nootbaar is one of the most underrated hitters in the game right now in my eyes. Yes, he hasn't had the most appealing surface stats over the last two seasons, but the metrics are certainly there for a notable breakout in 2025. Nootbaar is off to a strong start to the season as well with a .417/.533/.667 slash line and a pair of home runs in his first 30 plate appearances.
Last year's .244/.342/.417 slash line in 405 plate appearances doesn't stand out, Nootbaar's metrics across the board do. He consistently hit the ball hard with a 9.9% barrel rate, 91.8 mph AVG EV, and a 49.5% hard-hit rate. Nootbaar's contact and approach metrics were all better than league average as well with a 12.8% walk rate, 19.5% strikeout rate, 88.5% zone contact rate, and an 84% overall contact rate.
On top of all of that, Nootbaar has led off in every single game for the Cardinals so far, including against two left-handed pitchers. Nootbaar could wind up as a Top 100 player this season and is a strong buy in all dynasty leagues right now.
Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox
He's still holding on by a thread right now, but Ceddanne Rafaela is in danger of falling out of my Top 200 by my next update at the beginning of May. It was encouraging to see Rafaela chasing less in spring training, but he's right back to his old ways with a whopping 62.5% chase rate in the first seven games of the season.
Rafaela has always been aggressive but has made just enough contact to make it work. But if the chase issues were to worsen or the contact rates dip, this overall issue becomes increasingly more alarming.
The other issue here is the playing time situation moving forward which is making me question is Rafaela is an everyday player come mid-season. His defensive skills and versatility are wonderful, but the Red Sox will be calling up Roman Anthony soon and Marcelo Mayer as some point as well. Does that leave Rafaela playing three to four times a week as opposed to five to six times a week?
Kristian Campbell, Boston Red Sox
While Ceddanne Rafaela is sliding down my dynasty rankings, Krisitan Campbell certainly isn't. The 22-year-old rookie has been a spark plug for Boston so far with a .417/.500/.833 slash line and two home runs through his first seven games with four multi-hit games. Campbell has reached base in all seven games so far and has picked up four doubles as well.

— MLB (@MLB) April 3, 2025
In fact, Campbell's six extra-base hits so far are tied for the third most in baseball and trail only Kyle Tucker and Aaron Judge.
So, how high can Campbell rise in rankings this season? Well, as you can see, he only moved up a few spots since my last update, as he's now in the range of rankings where it's hard to make a sizeable jump due to the elite names around him. But given Campbell's high blend of contact, approach, power, and speed, jumping up into the Merrill/Chourio range in the 15-25 part of my rankings is a realistic range by the end of the season.
