19 seconds agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) will not play on Monday evening but is viewed as "day-to-day." Brodin was able to skate after practice, which is a promising sign he will not be sidelined for much longer. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Wednesday evening when they host the Seattle Kraken. Brodin has missed their previous seven contests with this injury. Before the injury, the 31-year-old tallied two points (both helpers) with two hits and 14 blocked shots over his last seven contests. Through 38 total games, Brodin has logged an impressive 81 blocked shots with 18 points (four goals). With Brodin sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Zach Bogosian to remain in the starting lineup.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (undisclosed) exited Friday's contest against the Colorado Avalanche early. After the contest, head coach John Hynes did not provide an update on his status. Before exiting, Brodin logged just over 15 minutes of ice time. He logged four blocked shots, one shot on goal, with two penalty minutes. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Sunday afternoon against the Boston Bruins. Over his previous seven games, Brodin has tallied two points (both helpers) with six shots on goal, 14 blocked shots, two hits, and six penalty minutes. While sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Jake Middleton to have an increase in ice time. Over his last six, Middleton has logged 13 blocks with one helper.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

1 month agoAccording to Sarah McLellan of Star Tribune Sports, Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) is expected to return on Tuesday evening to face the Boston Bruins. Brodin has been sidelined during the previous 12 games due to this injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Tuesday's contest, as he would have to be activated off the injured reserve before the game. Before his injury, Brodin found the back of the net four times and added 12 helpers across 31 games. The 31-year-old logged 51 shots on goal, 17 hits, and 67 blocked shots. When he does return, fantasy managers should expect Brodin to slot in on the second defensive pairing alongside Jared Spurgeon and the second power-play unit.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) is out week-to-week. He has missed four games with an upper-body injury, and apparently, Brodin's return isn't imminent. The Swedish rearguard is a defensive workhorse for the Wild, having collected eight points (two goals, six assists) in 19 games with 35 shots and 45 blocks. Newly acquired David Jiricek might get an extended look in the lineup during Brodin's absence. He's yet to make his Wild debut after the team picked him up from Columbus in a trade on Nov. 30.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
