At RotoBaller HQ, the MLB team continues to churn out updated rankings, and today we are back with more fantasy baseball dynasty league rankings. Today, we focus on the outfield with our MLB team's updated dynasty fantasy baseball outfield rankings that help fantasy managers in start-up or long-time dynasty leagues.
Juan Soto is the top-ranked outfielder in our latest dynasty rankings after signing the richest contract in baseball this offseason with the New York Mets. Amazingly, 12 of the top 20 in our overall rankings are outfielders. The position is loaded with elite young talent such as Jackson Chourio, Wyatt Langford, and James Wood. Outfield depth can get scarce after the top 40, especially if you are required to start five.
The outfield rankings below are specifically designed for dynasty leagues. Whether you're building for the future or trying to win it all this year, RotoBaller has you covered with our dynasty fantasy baseball articles, which are updated all year round by our dynasty league experts, Eric Cross and Chris Clegg. 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlooks For Outfielders
Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio looked like a 20-year-old rookie through the first two months of the 2024 season before catching fire in June. Over his first 50 games, Chourio was hitting .210 with a .254 on-base percentage, five home runs, and seven steals.
The following 98 contests saw the rookie hit .303 (.358 OBP) with 16 long balls, 15 steals, and a modest 18.5 percent strikeout rate. The toolsy youngster's learning curve in the batter's box offered some a great buy-low window while the 97th-percentile sprint speed kept chipping in steals.
One expects more experience to allow his plus-plus speed to play up more on the basepaths as he hones his timing. And he only shifted up to the top third of the batting order in the second half of the year so those attached to his 2024 seasonal line may be surprised by more R+RBI opportunities throughout '25.
Late January ATC projections give him 171 R+RBI with 25 home runs, 27 steals, and a solid .271 average. That said, some patience may be needed through growing pains and further adjustment battles for his age-21 season.
But his proven potential to hit near .300 with pop and speed plants him within RotoBaller's top 20, with an early aggregate ADP close to that 20th pick.

James Wood, Washington Nationals
Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood's first half-season in Major League Baseball in 2024 was the very definition of "fine." The Washington Nationals outfielder finished his first 79 games with a cumulative .264/354/.427 line with nine home runs and 14 steals.
The on-base percentage (11.6% walk rate) and 14 steals in under half a year certainly raised some eyebrows, but there were also prolonged slumps along the way. After his call-up in July, he hit just .245/.333/.357 that month with a 33% strikeout rate.
In August, Wood started looking a whole lot more like the guy selected in the second round of the 2021 draft and who hit .353/.463/.595 in AAA before coming up to Washington. In August last season, he hit .302/.407/.479 with three bombs and nine steals.
The primary reason for the improvement? He started getting the ball in the air. In his first month of play, Wood had a horrific 64% groundball rate. He cut that to under 50% in August, and the power and hard-hit ability came with it. As a result, his .690 July OPS spiked to .886 in August, and his strikeout rate plummeted by seven percentage points.
Among all players with at least 300 plate appearances in 2024, Wood's 11.6% walk rate was in the top 30 in the league. He was able to make it through some adjustments and combine his elite plate discipline with the power/speed combo that could make him a star.
There is a lot of opportunity cost at pick 49 in recent NFBC drafts, but extrapolate his 2024 79 games until a full season, and there is still a lot to love about this 22-year-old. ATC is on board with Wood to produce this season and is projecting him to slash .260/.345/.440 with 19 home runs and 20 steals over 590 plate appearances.

Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers
Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (oblique) battled rookie adjustments for much of the 2024 season before a September explosion put him in the spotlight. His first 108 games yielded a .241 batting average with eight home runs (30 extra-base hits) and 12 steals with a right hamstring strain interrupting his May.
Every month saw him post a soft-contact rate above 16 percent according to Fangraphs, until September 1 came around. That rate plummeted to 9.2 percent in the final month, sending his 8.4 percent barrel rate up to 13.2 percent for September. This led to eight home runs and seven doubles to fuel a .300/.386/.610 slash line over 114 plate appearances.
He even went a perfect 7-for-7 on steal attempts. That is league-winning upside residing in a high-pedigree prospect who seemed to find his groove. Managers who believe there will be more Septembers to come must grind out any growing pains with an early pick thanks to an NFBC ADP around pick 43 (his RotoBaller rank is similarly in the mid-forties).
ATC Projections call for 21 HRs and 19 swipes with a .260/.335/.445 slash line over 142 games, with plenty of profit margin available to those who put more stock in the strong finish.
It should be noted that Langford will be shut down for 5-7 days after being diagnosed with a mild oblique strain, putting Opening Day in doubt. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Langford's injury in March.
